Maggie’s has formed a new partnership this year with a group that has provided us education, inspiration, and a way to put a perspective on the work we do.
The first time we attended the Bioneers Conference in San Rafael, California, we were blown away. We listened, we learned, we networked, we laughed, and we even cried. And then we found out these three days of bliss happen every year, and not just in San Rafael, but in communities all over the continent. We were hooked. We have since participated in several ways, both at the main conference in California and at our local satellite conference here in Michigan. In short we have become a part of the Bioneers community.
So this year, when the Bioneers asked us to manage and fulfill their “gear” (tees, etc,), we were thrilled, as it is a way to extend our circle, to work with like-minded individuals, and to also spread the work of a group that truly is inspiring a shift in the ways we live.
WHAT IS BIONEERS?
Founder Kenny Ausubel coined the word bioneers in 1990 to describe a culture of social and scientific innovators who focus on breakthrough solutions, often inspired by nature’s models, for restoring people and planet. Bioneers sparks hope and inspiration by illuminating the most progressive solutions for the future of the planet.
They take a "solve-the-whole-problem" approach: Taking care of nature means taking care of people – and taking care of people means taking care of nature. It's part of their mission: Bioneers is inspiring a shift to live on Earth in ways that honor the web of life, each other and future generations.
A Leading Source of Innovative Solutions.
As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, Bioneers is a hub of breakthrough solutions and leading-edge ideas that celebrate the genius of nature and human creativity. They aim to create a healthy planet through the national Bioneers Conferences and Beaming Bioneers local events and programs, including: The Bioneers: Revolution From the Heart of Nature radio show; anthology book series; television programs; and an online community. They are a key source for the media, with their materials being used by colleges, schools, and organizations. They also conduct core programs on Women’s Leadership, Dreaming New Mexico (state-based restoration), Youth Initiatives and Food Systems.
BioneersGear is a new line of sustainably produced apparel and accessories within the Maggie's Organics family of goods . . . sparked by the ethos of bioneers everywhere. As a celebration of the genius of people and nature, Bioneers seeks to spark community and connection. That's why this partnership between Bioneers and Maggie's Organics is such a match made in heaven . . . on Earth. |
