Maggie’s Organics is proud to be the first-ever apparel company certified for Fair Labor Practices and Community Benefits, under a rigorous new auditing process administered by Scientific Certification Systems (SCS.)
Year in and year out, Maggie’s customers have wanted quality organic clothes – and they’ve also wanted quality information about how the production of these clothes impact our environment and the people who make them.
The Fair Labor Practices standard is another step we’re taking to keep our customers informed. Every step of our production process on two continents was audited, including cotton growers, ginners, spinners, dyers, cutters, sewers and screen printers – even our office and warehouse at Maggie’s HQ in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
The standard validates socially responsible practices in agricultural production as well as hiring, wages, working conditions, hours of work, freedom of association and freedom to organize, and access to housing, health care and transportation.
